Kahana Grill :: Maui's New Local Eatery  :: E Komo Mai

After opening its doors in November of 2012, Kahana Grill quickly established itself as Maui's happening neighborhood eatery for Lahaina-side diners. Taking up residence in the Kahana Gateway shopping center in a space already well-known to Mauians, the new establishment brought about changes that enhanced the spacious interior, making it even more inviting to local diners. Colorful island art fills the walls, and a solid koa outrigger canoe is suspended from the dining room's vaulted ceiling. A chef's dining bar was established along the restaurant's showcase kitchen, allowing diners the opportunity to get up close and personal with the culinary team led by long-time Maui chef Alex Stanislaw.  The wood-burning pizza oven was fired up, inspiring the challenge to craft the island's best artisan pizza. The cocktail bar was expanded, adding space to enjoy island pupus with specialty cocktails or hand-crafted Maui beer. The addition of a sushi bar, along with a team of talented sushi chefs, was another welcome touch for local diners.  A long, hand-crafted koa wood "ohana table" graces a space between the bar and the dining room - a perfect spot to meet up with friends or family. 

World Cuisine With Island Attitude

This inviting local eatery was the vision of proprietor Ken Murray, a Lahaina resident who made his way to Maui following a career in the high-tech industry.  Ken has dined enthusiastically around the globe, and began collecting ideas for his dream restaurant during his extensive travels.  He had long wanted to open up a neighborhood eatery - a place where local residents could gather to experience the unique flavors and dishes he had found so enticing during his travels.  His culinary inspirations, although global, are bound together by his belief that it is the neighborhood itself that shapes an eatery's unique style of cuisine.  The menus at Kahana Grill offer samplings from around the world, while taking advantage of all that Hawaii has to offer with its bounty of fresh fish and local produce.   Welcome to Kahana Grill - your local eatery serving world cuisine with island attitude.
